In summer 2013 Camping Don Antonio in Giulianova celebrated its 40th year in business. In 1973, the two brothers Antonio and Guido, with their wives and small children threw themselves into the great adventure of opening a campsite. Their children have grown up now and manage the results of two generations’ work.
It was them who wanted to dedicate numerous events to celebrate the much-awaited Don Antonio’s birthday.
Highly enjoyed by the campers, especially those from abroad, they offered a gastronomic date that was proposed repeatedly during the summer.
It was in the form of the rich traditional farm breakfast that the farmers’ wives used to take to their husbands and children who were working in the fields. They prepared a substantial meal with everything they had: cheese, ham, sausage, salami, omelette, fried peppers, taralli biscuits, mulled wine.
For the owners of Don Antonio, to offer a traditional Abruzzo meal was the most symbolic gift to express all their gratitude to their customers, the real actors in a wonderful story of love and hard work that has lasted for more than 4 decades, which we hope will continue for many years to come.
